Thursday August 15th 2013: Mobile Rail Workers Union win the NLRB Election 17 -5! The Margin is so wide that the 3 contested ballots were not needed! Now the employer has 7 days to challenge the results. After the 7 days IWW Chicago General Membership Branch becomes the certified bargaining Unit for Mobile Rail Solution’s Employees!

Windsor IWW Organizer Training 101

The Windsor Industrial Workers of the World will be holding an organizer training the weekend of Sept 8-9. This training is a crash course in direct action and solidarity unionism which will help you develop your skills as an organizer.You will learn useful skills like building an organizing committee, talking to co-workers, fighting employee apathy/fears, countering an anti-union campaign, and much much more.

This training is open to everyone, not just IWW members!

Location: University of Windsor, Odette building, Room 108

Hey Fellow Workers!

A reminder that the next general membership meeting is Tuesday July 3rd at 7:00 at the Windsor Workers’ Action Centre (328 Pelissier). Meetings are the first Tuesday of every month.

We do an orientation for new members an hour before the start of the membership meeting. So if you are interested in joining please come an hour early. If this time doesn’t work please contact us and we can arrange another time.

Just a quick reminder to folks that the next meeting will be held on May 15th at 7:00 at the Windsor Worker’s Action Centre (328 Pelissier St). The branch is growing steadily and hopefully we will continue to grow and take on new campaigns. We’ve got some great ideas for some upcoming campaigns and I look forward to hearing more from folks soon.

Thanks to everyone who participated in the May Day celebrations in Windsor. This was probably the largest May Day in decades. There is a lot to do in the coming year so let’s get started with the rally for Zellers Workers.
